Dr. Amy Alsip, Head of Upper School

August 15, 2025
Dear US Families,
Happy Friday, Upper School Families,
We are only a few short days away from the start of a new school year, and we hope you are all able to attend the Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, August 16. It will be a time to meet new friends, purchase new Oakridge gear, and much more!
As a reminder, I will be unable to attend the bash this year as I am currently in Lubbock, moving my daughter into her dorm at Texas Tech. Trust me, the Senior year goes by in a flash. On that note, if you are a Senior parent, please join us on Monday, August 18th, for the Class of 2026 College Night. We will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Library. I am also excited to announce that we will have Senior Sunrise on Tuesday, August 19th, at 6:00 a.m. on the south playground. This event is for Senior students only, please. It will be a special time for this group to bond and engage in some fun activities together. Donuts and juice will be served. I promise we will take photos for all of the parents.
We also hope to see as many of you as possible at the Parent Information Night (parents only, please) on Tuesday, August 26 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. You will have the opportunity to learn about US routines, advisory programming, curricular goals, and other pertinent information to make sure the school year is the best it can be.
Please note that the updated 2025-2026 Family Handbook is now available. The handbook provides information about topics such as dress code, code of conduct, our school's guidelines for responsible use of technology, as well as division-specific content. There are several changes to the US Handbook so please be sure to give it a read.
We look forward to welcoming you back on Wednesday, August 20. I hope you enjoy these last few days of summer break!
All my best,
Dr. Amy Alsip
Head of Upper School
