Dear Oakridge Family,
The school year is in full swing, and it has been an amazing start! I’ve loved seeing all the smiles, hearing the laughter in the quad, and watching our kids delve back into the full Oakridge experience. As we begin another exciting fall sports season, it's time to celebrate our amazing student-athletes. They're more than just competitors; they are a living example of our mission to inspire students to seek their potential through academic excellence, enriched by the arts and athletics.
Being a student-athlete demands commitment, discipline, and resilience. Our athletes learn to balance their academic responsibilities with the hard work of practice, competition, and teamwork. These are invaluable life skills that extend far beyond the game—they're the very foundation for success in life.
Athletics at Oakridge isn't just for the athletes; it's the heartbeat of our entire community. When we come together to cheer on our teams, we're building something special. We’re showing our students what it means to be part of a supportive family that celebrates shared goals and triumphs. Your presence on the sidelines creates an electric atmosphere that fuels our teams and strengthens our collective school spirit. It’s an opportunity to connect with other parents, faculty, and students, reinforcing the bonds that make our school a true community.
This season, I encourage you to join us in the stands. Let's come together to support our teams, connect with other parents, and take pride in our student-athletes' accomplishments. Your presence shows our students what it means to be part of a community that values teamwork, school spirit, and the joy of coming together as the Oakridge family. And if you haven’t been watching, our Varsity programs are off to a great start, and looking to compete for multiple SPC Championships this year.
Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to seeing you at the games, where we can celebrate the spirit and achievements of our incredible students together!
With gratitude and excitement for the season ahead,
Matt Burgy
